On September 16, 2017, Joshua Merriman passed away suddenly. This tragic event sparked an opportunity to represent Josh and honor all that he was passionate about and stood for.

The Josh Merriman Foundation was started in October of 2017 by friends and family to help keep the spirit of Josh alive and celebrate the life he lived. Josh was a student at Robert Morris University, anticipating graduation with a bachelor's degree in business and finance in December of 2017. He was part of the club hockey team at RMU, as well as various academic and social clubs. Not only was Josh an extraordinary student, he was also a avid golfer and poker player. Josh's strong family background, as well as his devout Catholic faith, drew him to be liked by all and excel in anything he put his mind to. Because of the memories created with him throughout his life and the strong character he displayed, the family and friends in charge of the foundation hope to continue his legacy.

The goals of the Josh Merriman Foundation are to enhance concussion (traumatic brain injury) knowledge, expand mental health awareness and improve suicide prevention in the local community, especially among athletes.

We hope to keep everyone "Safe and Sound!"
